For the International Day of Charity, we are proud to share our 2025 Volunteer Report, a celebration of what becomes possible when our people contribute their skills, energy and time in partnership with communities.

“Ambassadors for Good remains one of the most powerful expressions of our Purpose in action – re-imagining mining to improve people’s lives,” says Alison Atkinson, Chief Projects & Development Officer and Global Executive Ambassadors for Good Programme sponsor.

The report brings that impact to life. In 2025, 834 employee volunteers across 13 markets contributed 10,968 hours to 262 community projects, working with 228 partner organisations and reaching 140,089 people. Approximately $1.66 million in grant funding helped turn locally identified ideas into practical action.

Behind the numbers are stories of our people sharing their professional expertise to address challenges that matter locally. Discover how volunteers helped women artisans in Peru preserve traditional weaving while building new sources of income; introduced young people and families in Chile to resource-efficient food production; improved rural education through technology in China; and supported boys’ mental health and resilience in South Africa.

Ambassadors for Good strengthens trusted local partnerships and supports our Sustainability Strategy, particularly our ambition to help create thriving communities. It also gives colleagues the opportunity to use their skills beyond their day-to-day roles, collaborate across teams and deepen their connection to our Purpose and Values.
