Our Purpose

Everyone at Anglo American is guided by our clear purpose: we are re-imagining mining to improve people’s lives.

Mining has a safer, smarter future – a future where you may barely notice some mines at all.

We are increasingly using remote or automated technologies to keep all our people safe and we are planning for a future where new mines are being developed out of sight and deep underground – to reliably and responsibly provide many of the precious metals and minerals our modern society needs for improving living standards and food security in a cleaner, greener and decarbonising world.
