Purpose met passion in Santiago as Alison Atkinson, Chief Projects and Development Officer and Executive Sponsor for Ambassadors for Good, visited Anglo American’s offices in Chile to meet with local Ambassadors and partner organisations.
Her visit underscored the importance of employee-led initiatives and the power of Purpose-driven engagement across the company.
Alison said:

The visit aimed to deepen engagement with Chilean Ambassadors, celebrate the impact of their projects, and reinforce Anglo American’s commitment to creating meaningful contributions in the communities where we operate. It also served to highlight the critical role of senior leadership in supporting and amplifying the Ambassadors for Good programme.
During her time in Santiago, Alison met with the Fundación Anglo American Chile team, Ambassadors, and partner organisations including Fundación Inspira, Soular, and Bomberos. These interactions showcased how Ambassadors for Good empowers employees to use their skills to address real-world challenges, while also fostering leadership, collaboration and problem-solving capabilities.
The visit was a powerful reminder of how Ambassadors for Good connects employees to our company’s purpose and culture. Through these initiatives, individuals not only contribute to community development but also experience personal growth and help build capacity within partner organisations.
Alison’s presence and support as Executive Sponsor reaffirmed the value of the programme and inspired continued momentum. Her engagement with the Chile team highlighted the transformative potential of Ambassadors for Good and the importance of nurturing a culture where our Purpose and our Values go hand in hand.
