Los Bronces has been honored by the Chilean National Service of Geology and Mining (Sernageomin) for its exceptional performance in mining safety, receiving the prestigious award in the Large Mining Category. The award recognises Los Bronces’ continuous efforts to foster a strong culture of safety and consistently meeting or exceeding the highest industry standards.

The award ceremony, held on Wednesday, 27 August 2025 at the Andrés Bello University, Bellavista Campus in Santiago, was led by Chile’s Minister of Mining Aurora Williams and Andrés León, Acting National Director of Sernageomin. During the event, Ana Lidia Cepeda Pérez, Superintendent of Plant Safety and Staff at Los Bronces, was also recognised as a “Prevention Professional”, celebrating her dedication to innovation and care in our operations.

Ana Lidia Cepeda Pérez says:
“Innovation and care go hand in hand in our operations. Every improvement we make is driven by a deep responsibility to protect our people and ensure they return home safely. Safety isn’t just a protocol, it’s a mindset, and it’s at the heart of everything we do at Los Bronces.”

These recognitions build on the achievements of 2024 and reflect the collective commitment of every individual at Anglo American to work safely and return home healthy.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work and discipline of our teams across operations, who continuously uphold our Values.

Sarah Bell, Senior Vice President, SHE added:
“This recognition is a powerful affirmation of the dedication and discipline our teams demonstrate every day to keep our people safe. The award reflects our collective commitment to operational excellence, where safety is a fundamental part of how we work. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and grateful to every colleague who contributes to making our sites safer and more resilient.”
