As an example of our collaborative approach towards sustainability and creating thriving communities where we operate, Anglo American, in partnership with the Government of the State of Minas Gerais, celebrates the successful delivery of the Machadinho Ring Road project in the municipality of Serro, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

The project, fully funded by Anglo American and executed by DER-MG, included the construction of a new Machadinho bypass, as well as the functional restoration of the Serro bypass and sections of the MG-010 highway.

With an investment of approximately R$48 million, the new road connects the MG-010 and CMG-259 highways, with the aim of reducing heavy vehicle traffic in urban areas of the municipality.

The project represents an important step forward in high quality road infrastructure, bringing greater safety to people in the region and reinforcing our commitment to local development and improving the quality of life in the communities where we operate by using innovative partnerships.
