World Education Day: empowering the next generation...
We are proud to celebrate World Education Day every year on 24 January by reaffirming our commitment to driving systemic, long-term change...
We believe that our role as a global business is to make a positive contribution to society.
Through the implementation of our social performance management system – the Social Way 3.0 – and through our Collaborative Regional Development programme, we are working actively to support local and regional economies, as well as the lives and livelihoods of the communities where we operate.
When it comes to our Thriving Communities pillar of the Sustainable Mining Plan, there are three key areas of focus with associated stretch goals: health and wellbeing, education and livelihoods.
We continued our work in the areas of health, livelihoods and education across our host countries.
We partner with governments, communities, other private sector companies, academia, financial development institutions and NGOs through our CRD work. This approach provides comprehensive and scalable benefits for us – as members of the community who benefit from its prosperity – and our stakeholders.
Ambassadors for Good: Pieces of our dream initiative
Launched in 2018, Ambassadors for Good (AfG) is Anglo American’s global, skills-based employee olunteering programme, funded by the Anglo American Foundation.
Employees form teams, partner with local organisations, and deliver 6-month impact projects supported by up to $6,500 in funding.
