Anglo American has been announced as the winner in the Disability Confident Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace category in the UK's 2021 Disability Smart Awards.

The annual Disability Smart Awards are run by the Business Disability Forum and were set up to share and recognise disability smart action and initiatives put in place by organisations and individuals working within them.

This year, the Forum worked with the UK's Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Disability Confident team to incorporate four specific Disability Confident awards, recognising those employers that have underlined their commitment to the scheme.

One in four of us will suffer from a mental illness or neurological disorder at some point in our lives. This means around 14,000 of our employees will be affected across their lifetime.
