Anglo American again participated in the annual China Mining Conference in Tianjin this week, now in its 26th year, an increasingly influential platform for Chinese and international mining companies to engage in debate and best-practice sharing in the areas of exploration, project development, processing, technology, supply chain, and financing across the mining industry.

This year’s theme was “Promoting Mining Cooperation for a Better Future.” James Wyatt-Tilby, Group Head of Corporate Affairs, delivered a keynote presentation entitled “Mining’s Role in a Transitioning World” at the Corporate Executives Forum, where he reflected on the strong partnerships Anglo American has forged with China over the decades and the opportunities for Anglo American to partner more with Chinese companies, whether as customers, suppliers or strategic partners, pointing to the exceptional success of our Ubuntu bulk ore fleet that was built in Shanghai over the last few years. James also discussed the industry's collaborative efforts towards the shared goals of transforming the future of mining to enable the global energy transition, while further improving global living standards and addressing the challenges of food security, all of which are of direct relevance to China's ambitions and economic needs.
