We are proud to announce that Anglo American has won the Inclusive Culture Initiative Award for our ‘Domestic Violence Policy & Awareness Campaign’ at the Inclusive Awards, as well as once again featuring in the Top 50 Inclusive Employers in the UK list.
Now in its 10th year, the Inclusive Awards – presented by Inclusive Companies, a membership organisation focused on equality, diversity and inclusion – celebrates organisations for harnessing a truly diverse workforce. It recognises the efforts of those companies that have excelled in their commitment to equality and inclusion across all aspects of diversity, including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race and religion.
Inclusive Culture Initiative Award
The Inclusive Culture Initiative Award is presented to the organisation that demonstrates it holds diversity at its core by implementing internal initiative strategies, campaigns and resources to drive diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation.
Commenting on the achievement of winning the Inclusive Culture Initiative Award for our ‘Domestic Violence Policy & Awareness Campaign’, Monique Carter, People & Organisation Director at Anglo American, says:
“Global companies like Anglo American have a responsibility to keep their people safe and this work is part of our commitment to do just that, as well as to create an environment where women have every opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. We know that the support we offer to survivors of domestic violence who work for us can save lives and help people escape from dangerous situations. It’s very pleasing to see our sector-leading policy and approach being recognised in this way and we hope it will encourage more businesses to do the same.”
The entries to this category were assessed by an independent panel of judges from diverse cultural and business backgrounds. Together they look beyond policies and practices to identify those organisations that can demonstrate they have achieved true diversity, inclusion, equality and equity in their workplace.
