Last week, FT Live hosted the 2022 FT Mining Summit event with the theme of ‘Mining the Global Green Transition’ at the Mandarin Oriental in London between 20-21 October, bringing together thought leaders and subject matter experts from across the mining industry.
The summit focused on the role that mining companies need to play in the green transition and how we can responsibly and reliably provide the metals and minerals needed to facilitate net zero. At the event, Anglo American was represented by Duncan Wanblad, Chief Executive; Matthew Walker, Group Head of Corporate Finance and Tzveta Tchorbadjieva, Executive Head - Strategy, Business Development and Finance
Throughout the panel discussions, several topics were explored in relation to sustainability. Matthew Walker took part in ‘Financing the Energy Transition’ touching upon the role of platinum group metals play in FCEVs and the broader automotive industry.
