Today, we launched our brand new website. And it’s all down to you.

We knew that we needed to make it easier for you to navigate your way around our site and find the right information easily. Not only that, we wanted to present it in a clear and clean way, regardless of whether you are viewing it on a PC, mobile or a tablet.

But what do all these changes mean?

Finding the right information

Information presented in an engaging way is the key to a great website. We’ve strived to make sure that you can access the information that is right for you, quickly.

Aguide to our new website

It was important to us that we make the topic of mining simple to understand, and this has been a key driver behind the site’s development.

You’re able to clearly see how the resources we mine impact everyday life with Origins – a brand new section soon to be available across all of our country sections.

For example, our iron ore section within Origins focuses on the journeys that people make every day. Without iron ore, those journeys would not be able to happen. Making the link between what we do and how it affects people’s lives forms a powerful connection to help everyone understand why mining matters.

In fact, we’ve made understanding our areas of business even easier with all the information you can need located on one product page, like Copper for example. These pages include a product summary, leadership contacts, operation locations and highlighted assets.

Joining the conversation

A main goal for our new website was to make it easier for you to talk to us.

That’s why we’ve integrated Twitter capability on each page. That way, you can keep up to date with and share our news and developments, as well as deliver your thoughts on them.

It’s the same case when you are reading this section, Our Stories, the section of the site where you can find out what’s happening across our business. We have included simple commenting functionality here, so you can easily join the conversation. 

Making your way around the site

As with any website, being able to find the sections that are of interest to you is crucial.

So that’s why we have made it easier for you to find your way back to the Anglo American Group website while navigating our different regional sections.

We’ve done this by simply including a new menu button at the top of the page that takes you back to the Group content in one click.

At the moment, it’s only available on our South Africa section, but it will be rolled out across our whole portfolio.

And speaking of navigation, you may have noticed that there are small red circles on the right hand side of your page – this navigation will help you find the information you need on the page faster and simpler.

Ultimately, here at Anglo American, we want people to understand what we do and why it matters. And with this new website, we hope we’ve made our world more accessible to everyone.
