The UN’s International Day of Charity is a chance for us all to reflect on why it is important to help those in need.

This year, to mark the day, we are releasing our Volunteering at Anglo American 2020 report (click here to download in EnglishSpanish or Portuguese), titled ‘Supporting our host communities during a global pandemic'.

The report opens with a Welcome letter from Stephen Pearce, our Finance Director, in which he talks about the importance of charity during 2020

Our Ambassadors for Good programme is popular with colleagues at Anglo American and De Beers Group because it’s a ‘hands on’ way to support our host communities and make a real difference very quickly. It also provides the opportunity to learn from diverse cultures and communities across the globe. The programme has grown from year to year, and 2022 is a landmark year for us because it will be available to more colleagues from across the group than ever before.”

Patrick Gibbs The Ambassadors for Good global programme lead

The report showcases some of the charitable work performed by colleagues around the world in 2020 through our volunteering programmes: Ambassadors for Good in Brazil, Canada, Singapore, South Africa and UK; Embajadores Programme in Chile; and Platinum for Good in South Africa.
