Anglo American supports Japan earthquake and tsunami appeal with US$5 million donation
The Chief Executive of Anglo American, Cynthia Carroll, today announced a US$5 million donation to the Japanese Red Cross to assist with disaster relief following the recent earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan.
Cynthia Carroll said: “At Anglo American, we have all been
deeply shocked and saddened by the devastating events in
Japan. Anglo American is proud of its close relationship with
its Japanese partners over many years, and we wish to offer our
support and condolences following this catastrophe. Our
thoughts are with all those in Japan who have been affected, and
Anglo American is pleased to assist the Japanese Red Cross in their
relief efforts with this US$5 million donation.”
