Anglo American plc launches GBP300 million bond offering issued under existing EMTN programme

Anglo American plc announces that it has launched its inaugural sterling denominated benchmark bond offering, through Anglo American Capital plc.
The Royal Bank of Scotland plc and HSBC Bank plc are joint lead managers and bookrunners.
The bond matures in December 2010 and was priced at £99.465, paying a coupon of 5.125% at 74 bps over gilts.
The issue is guaranteed by Anglo American plc.
Proceeds are being used to repay existing bank borrowings.
