Find answers to some of the most common questions about applying for jobs at Anglo American online.
How do I change my password?
Log in as an Existing Applicant and select Change Password. You will then be asked for your old password and your new password, as well as the secret question you would like to use for identification. Your secret question and answer will be used if you ever forget your password.
How do I know when a job is advertised?
Jobs are posted regularly, often daily. If however, you do not want to visit the site daily, you can subscribe to receive a Job Alert, which will notify you of any future jobs that match your employment preferences.
How do I register for a Job Alert?
The Job Alert function automatically searches for new jobs at Anglo American for you. By creating a Job Alert and selecting your career preferences, any matching jobs will be emailed to you for consideration. To register for a Job Alert, click on the Job Alert link and fill in the requested information.
I am having problems uploading my resume because the file size is too large. What can I do to make it smaller?
Files cannot exceed 2Mb in size. To help you reduce your file size, these tips might be helpful:
- Compress pictures/tickets to make them smaller
- Use .jpg format for images/certificate/tickets, and set your scanner for email quality
- If your scanner only allows pdf or tif formats, select pdf (pdf compresses the file more than tif)
- Try not to add too many certificates/tickets/pictures to your document
I am having problems uploading my resume. How do I do this?
Pay special attention to the file format – the system only allows for the uploading of .doc, .pdf and .rtf files in the Resume screen. You may also type or paste your resume text into the text field provided on the Resume page when you click 'Attach file'
I cannot remember my password. What should I do?
Click on the link called Existing Applicant sign on and select the Forgotten your password option. The system will prompt you for an answer to the 'secret question' you initially captured on registration. This will send a new password directly to the email address you initially registered under.
I have forgotten the answer to my secret question?
You will need to contact the recruiter to have your password reset. With your new password you will be able to sign in using the Existing Applicant sign on link and update your password and the secret question using the Change Password option.
What happens after I apply for a job?
After you submit an application, you will receive email correspondence to confirm receipt of your application. You can then log on to our system to track the progress of your application. We will keep you informed on your progress through the recruitment and selection process via e-mail correspondence; therefore it is important to ensure that your details are correct. Should any of your details change, you can log back into your online application and update your profile.
