Our metallurgical coal business has six operations in Australia and is the second largest producer of coal.

Australia

In Australia we operate five mines in Queensland and one in New South Wales. In Queensland’s Bowen Basin, Moranbah North, Capcoal, and Dawson operations supply hard and semi-soft coking coals and thermal coal to export markets. The Callide mine, also in Queensland, supplies coal primarily to local utility customers and the Foxleigh mine which adjoins Capcoal and the associated Lake Lindsay development, supplies PCI coal for the steel making industry. In New South Wales, the Drayton mine supplies both export and local markets.

All of the mines are in well-established locations and have direct access to rail and port facilities at Dalrymple Bay, Gladstone or Newcastle.
