BE (Mining Engineering), 57; Chief Executive since April 2013.
Mark is a member of the Board and Group Management Committee (GMC), is a non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum, chairman of Anglo American South Africa (AASA) and chairman of De Beers.
Mark was previously CEO of AngloGold Ashanti Limited, a position he held since 2007. Before joining AngloGold Ashanti, Mark was COO at Vale Inco where he was responsible for Vale’s global nickel business. Prior to this he held senior executive positions with the Normandy Group, Sons of Gwalia, Western Mining Corporation, Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines and CRA (Rio Tinto).
Mark graduated from Wollongong University, New South Wales, with a BSc in Engineering and in 2013, was awarded an honorary doctorate.

René is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and chairman of the Investment Committee. He is a non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum and De Beers.
He joined BOC France in January 1988 and then held a variety of financial appointments in BOC in the US and the UK. Prior to joining BOC, René worked in Paris for Schlumberger and Arthur Andersen Consulting.
René joined the board of Petrofac Limited in 2012 as a non-executive director. He is a former finance director of The BOC Group plc and was a non-executive director of SSE plc (formerly Scottish and Southern Energy plc) until June 2012.
He holds a doctorate in economics and degrees in finance and economics from the Université de Paris-Dauphine, France, and completed the Financial Management Programme at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.

Anik is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC).
Joining Anglo American in January 2008 as Group Head of Corporate Communication and appointed Group Director of Corporate Relations in June 2015, Anik’s remit includes Corporate Communication and Government and Social Affairs. Anik's more than 20-year career in the full range of communication and public affairs disciplines has brought her from Quebec, Canada, where she was ultimately Director of Public Affairs for Rio Tinto Alcan after 10 years with the Alcan group.
Anik began her career as the political attaché to the Minister of Finance for Quebec having qualified as a lawyer at the University of Ottawa and with a degree in Health Sciences.

Chris is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC).
Chris joined Platinum where he progressed from shift supervisor to become one of the youngest general managers in the company at that time. He was previously chief executive of Kumba Iron Ore between 2008 and 2012 and prior to this, Chris was Platinum’s head of operations for joint ventures.
He has been with Anglo American for more than two decades.
Chris holds a B Eng (Mining) Hons from the University of Pretoria.

Duncan is a member of the General Management Committee (GMC).
Between 2009 and 2013, Duncan held the position of group director Other Mining and Industrial. He was appointed joint interim CEO of Anglo American Platinum in 2007, before taking over as CEO of Anglo American’s copper operations in 2008.
Duncan holds a BSc (Eng) Mech and a GDE (Eng Management) from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
FCCA, FZICA, 56; CEO of Kumba Iron Ore since September 2012.
Norman is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and deputy chairman of Anglo American South Africa (AASA).
He joined Anglo American in 2001 at Konkola Copper Mines. He was subsequently appointed CFO for Anglo Coal. He became finance director of Anglo American Platinum in 2006 and later stepped in as joint acting CEO. Norman was CEO of Scaw Metals from 2008 and later CEO of Thermal Coal from 2009 until 2012.
Norman is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Paulo is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC).
Paulo joined Iron Ore Brazil as commercial director in 2011. He was previously chief executive of our Niobium and Phosphates businesses in Brazil. Paulo’s early career included positions in corporate finance and capital project roles at AngloGold Ashanti and Minorco.
He graduated in Business Administration at Fundação Getúlio Vargas, in São Paulo, with an MBA in Strategic Planning from the London Business School.

Peter is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and is a non-executive director of De Beers.
Peter joined Anglo American in 1990 within the Corporate Finance division. He worked on the merger of Minorco with Anglo American, the listing of Anglo American in 1999 and the subsequent unwinding of the cross-holding with De Beers. Peter was appointed Group head of finance in 2003 and CFO Base Metals in August 2008.
A Chartered Accountant with a BCom and a MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, Peter has also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in the US.

Philippe is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC).
Philippe joined Ford in 1980, occupying senior positions over 19 years. In 1999, Philippe joined Renault as a senior vice president. In 2001, he became chairman of Volvo AB and CEO of Renault Trucks. In 2003, he became president of Alstom Transport and was later appointed executive vice president of Alstom Group.
Philippe has a degree in mechanical engineering, and an MBA from INSEAD.

Seamus is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC).
Seamus joined Anglo American in 2007 having been CEO of Anglo American Metallurgical Coal between 2009 and 2013.
He joined WMC Resources in Australia in 1994, in strategic planning and business development, before being appointed executive general manager of the Copper-Uranium division.
Seamus joined BHP Billiton as global vice-president Business Excellence following its takeover of WMC in 2005.
He has a Chemical Engineering degree.
MBA, BASc (Eng), 58; Group Director – Technical and Sustainability since September 2013.
Tony is a member of the Group Management Committee (GMC) and a member of the Sustainability and Investment Committees. He is also a non-executive director of Kumba Iron ore, Anglo American Platinum and De Beers.
Tony joined AngloGold Ashanti in July 2008 as executive vice president – Business and Technical Development and served as joint acting CEO until July 2013.
His 35-year career in the mining industry has spanned iron ore, copper, nickel and gold and includes his roles as operations executive at Newcrest Mining and as the head of the gold business at Western Mining Corporation.
Tony is a mining engineer with an MBA from the University of Melbourne.
