Currency
Dividends are declared in US cents, but are also payable in pounds sterling, euros and South African rand.
UK and Eurozone
Shareholders with registered addresses in the UK are paid their dividends in pounds sterling. Those with registered addresses in European countries which have adopted the euro will be paid in euros. Such shareholders may, however, elect to be paid their dividends in US dollars provided such election is received by the record date for the dividend.
Other countries
Shareholders with registered addresses in all other countries will be paid in US dollars, except for those registered on the South African branch register, who will be paid their dividends in rand only.
Method of payment
Shareholders with bank accounts in the UK or South Africa can have their cash dividends credited directly to their bank accounts, by arrangement with Equiniti (UK) (formerly Lloyds TSB Registrars) or Link Market Services (South Africa). South African-registered shareholders may not mandate their dividends to an account outside the republic of South Africa without South African exchange control approval.
Dividend reinvestment plan
A dividend reinvestment plan is available through Equiniti in the UK and Link Market Services in South Africa. This plan enables shareholders to reinvest their cash dividends in the purchase of Anglo American ordinary shares.
Details of the plan are available from Equiniti or Link. For contact details, see registrars.
